This display is made of 84x48 individual pixels, so you can use it for graphics, text or bitmaps. It also has a red backlight. All necessary functions for the display are provided in a single chip, including on-chip generation of LCD supply and bias voltages, resulting in a minimum of external components and low power consumption.These displays are inexpensive, easy to use, require only a few digital I/O pins and are fairly low power. The display driver is a PCD8544 chip which V so you'll need a 3V supply. Logic levels must be 3V to prevent damage so you will need to connect to a level shifter chip so you can easily connect it to 5V logic such as an Arduino.
