This sealed digital temperature probe has 3 pins and uses only one pin for communication. The other two are positive and ground. It does not need an external power supply. It can be used as a thermometer, for thermal sensitive applications and thermostatic control.
It lets you precisely measure temperatures in wet environments with a simple 1-Wire interface and has a high quality moisture-proof stainless steel tube thus resistant to rust.
The DS18B20 provides 9 to 12-bit (configurable) temperature readings over a 1-Wire interface, so that only one wire (and ground) needs to be connected from a central microprocessor.
Because they are digital, you don't get any signal degradation even over long distances! These 1-wire digital temperature sensors are fairly precise (±0.5°C over much of the range) and can give up to 12 bits of precision from the onboard digital-to-analog converter. They work great with any microcontroller using a single digital pin, and you can even connect multiple ones to the same pin.
Usable with 3.0-5.0V systems.
